Marvel Civil War At Free Comic Book Day
I went to Free Comic Book Day (1st Saturday of May) and did three things. Yes, there is a free Comic Book Day, amazing! There was no plan to do these three things and they probably would never have happened had I not done three other things earlier that day.
Three before the three:
- I left my sunscreen and hat at home (more on why this is important later).
- I went to hike Camelback with some friends and had to turn back because it was too sunny (later).
- I drove past a supermarket to go to another and just happened to see Atmoic Comics next door.
Needless to say, it was a sign from above. I went in to Atomic Comics while my awesome wife went next door to Sprouts to buy some food stuffs.
The actual three:
- I went to Free Comic book day and got not one but two free comics.
- I learned that Lady Gaga has her own comic book now.
- I purchased Marvel’s Civil War because Marc Chung recommended it.
I was instantly teleported back to my pre-girls youth when I’d shovel snow, rake leaves, mow lawns, or replace basement plumbing in Pre WWII homes just to save enough for a comic book. Long story short Marvel’s Civil War series is better than anything on TV today and definitely more insightful, read it, especially before seeing the new IronMan movie.
Oh yeah, and I signed up for Phoenix Comicon! Sweet!
